Not sure now Chelsea’s big summer signing Diego Costa is going to get in the side the way that John Terry is playing this preseason.
In Chelsea’s first preseason game against Wycombe on Wednesday Terry got on the scoresheet and then on Saturday the Bluues captain bagged two more as a Chelsea XI fought back from 2-0 down to beat AFC Wimbledon in Kingston.
The Blues fell behind to first-half efforts from Alan Bennett and Matt Tubbs. Young midfielder Lewis Baker was influential as Chelsea mounted their second-half charge, setting up all three goals.
Terry, who entered the game at half-time poked home Baker’s corner having come on for Chelsea, before he rose highest to head home another Baker set-piece in the final minute to snatch victory.
Chelsea’s other goal came from Mohamed Salah, the impressive young Baker again claiming the assist.
