Eden Hazard has been hit with a misconduct charge after the FA decided a three-match ban was not a tough enough penalty for kicking Swansea ball boy Charlie Morgan.
Hazard’s case will be heard by an independent commission, who will decide if additional punishment is appropriate.
Chelsea have until Tuesday to present their case and it will be dealt with next week. South Wales police have confirmed they will not investigate the incident, and Chelsea hoped new TV footage might persuade the FA to do the same.
But the FA released a statement yesterday to say a three-match ban for Hazard was
‘clearly insufficient’.
Chelsea will present a dossier backing Hazard, to include TV footage and reference to his swift apology and previous good behaviour.
The incident has upset the Belgian, whose agent John Biko has flown to London to support him, and an extended ban for Hazard would be a blow for Rafa Benitez, who said: ‘He was really doing well. We’ll miss a good player.’

The big one there is obviously the trip to Man City in a month’s time. So hopefully the FA give Hazard an addition two match ban (5 games total) and not a six game ban.

My comment is a question. Yes Hazard has done something wrong and he is being purnished what is going to be the purnishment for the young lad who has also done wrong by not doing his job properly. In africa we believe that purnishment is for correction, if the boy, 17 ie Piason’s age mate is not purnish will he or others not repeat such act. Have similar incidents of the past been purnish with 5 match ban? if not why should Hazard be over purnish? I think the FA is setting a bad precedence. And playing double standards.
