Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has been talking to a Spanish radio channel about his future and it sounds like we can expect to see him in the Premier League next season, just not for Chelsea.
“Chelsea talked about me spending two years at a team like Atlético. Then I will go to a team in England for a year, somewhere like Fulham or Tottenham, to help me adapt to the Premier League. Then, all things being normal, I will go back to Chelsea in my fourth year”said Courtois.
Courtois has been super for Atlético, and they are not willing to let him go without a fight. The club is doing everything in its power to convince Chelsea to allow the goalkeeper to stay on for a third year, which would necessarily be his last on loan in Madrid (‘La Liga‘ regulations prohibit loans longer than this period).
Maybe if they sell Chelsea Falcao, then we will let them keep Courtois for another season!
